The aim: less noise with traffic unchanged. Zero noise would mean zero flights — isolation for the region and economic harm to everyone; that is not the aim. Every scenario on this page keeps the same number of flights and comparable capacity, and shows how much noise falls through measures of the ICAO Balanced Approach. The calculations rest on our own stations' measurements, not on manufacturers' figures.
