For every aircraft that did not depart from this airport and descends to 3,000 feet, the system follows the approach and measures three things: the track relative to the extended runway centreline, the descent angle, and the noise level at the peripheral stations. The runway follows from the airport's active direction — landings use the same direction as take-offs.
Use of reverse thrust above idle is not measured yet: it requires sound level meters along the runway. The touchdown point recorded here is the basis for that measurement.
The values are recorded for every landing, whether a finding arises or not. The rule thresholds are calibrated against the distribution shown in the daily summary; while that is pending, findings do not trigger notifications.
